A revista britânica Uncut divulgou a sua lista com os melhores discos de 2022 e a primeira posição ficou com o álbum “A Light for Attracting Attention”, registro de estreia do The Smile, projeto formado por Thom Yorke e Jonny Greenwood, do Radiohead.
Sobre a escolha do disco como melhor do ano, a Uncut justificou: “a pandemia ainda mordiscando bordas. E oferta de líderes apenas crueldade e caos. Estes são os momentos assustadores que Thom Yorke e Jonny Greenwood nos alertou sobre décadas, assim quem melhor nos ajudar através eles? Não como Radiohead, no entanto. Evidentemente, uma unidade menor e simplificada era necessário para se mover com mais agilidade pela paisagem quebrada.”
A publicação acrescenta mais adiante: “A Light for Attracting Attention também lembrava regularmente o pico Radiohead da fase “In Rainbows” com uma dor cósmica adicional, impulsionado em novas direções pela bateria stealth jazz de Tom Skinner.”
A lista completa foi publicada na edição impressa da Uncut e traz ainda no seu top 5: “Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You”, do Big Thief, “Big Time”, do Angel Olsen, “Dear Scott”, do Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band e “The Spur”, do Joan Shelley. Nomes como Elvis Costello, Arctic Monkeys, Björk e Beyoncé também estão presentes em posições mais adiante.
Desta que para “Mil Coisas Invisíveis”, segundo disco solo do cantor e compositor brasileiro Tim Bernardes, da banda O Terno, que surge na posição 52 da lista.
